Tony “Bomber” Bower-Miles, along with his long-time friend and fellow Australian Vietnam veteran Gerry Lyall, have been helping clear landmines and unexploded ordnance in Cambodia since 2002. Both men were combat engineers during the Vietnam war and met at the start of their tour of duty in 1969. The two of them, along with Mac McGregor, run the Australian NGO Vietnam Veterans Mine Clearing Team. The Australian-based NGO helps raise funds that directly support Cambodia Self Help Demining in the field. Both Tony and Gerry suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and both continue to help remove landmines in Cambodia as part of their therapy.
